The Directorate of National Science Centre (DNSC) manages and coordinates 3 teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education in schools and colleges of education. To this effect, the Directorate will conduct STEM trainings in Western (2nd – 7th May 2022) and Eastern (15th – 20th May 2022) provinces in which STEM teachers and lecturers will be trained on how to effectively use equipment and resources, facilitate the teaching and learning as well as effectively assess learning in order to improve learner performance through deepening understanding of the implementation of the curriculum. The preparations for the STEM provincial course require preparation of specific documentations. Some of the documentations that need to be prepared prior to the conduct of the training include;
The Eastern and Western 2022 STEM Provincial training will be conducted using locally developed training materials/content package. The training design will take the form of Physical learning with active involvement of participants from their various districts of the province. The main training frame for this KCCP will focus on STEM Education. This is so because Zambia is striving to emancipate itself from poverty and accelerate self-reliance for which STEM Education is among the main drivers as emphasized in the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP)
